Should you replace your boiler in the Summer or the Winter?

During the recent heatwave we've had, replacing your boiler would have been the last thing on your mind! But summer could be the ideal time to undertake that boiler replacement you've been thinking about. It never hurts to be prepared for the winter, making summer the smart choice for boiler repairs and replacement.

Make the right decision

If you know your boiler needs replacing, then you’ll have plenty of time to schedule the work in the summer. Obviously, nobody knows when their boiler might give up the ghost, but if yours is more than 10 years old a replacement makes sense.

Making the switch in the summer gives you plenty of time to research and choose the best model for you, one that balances the best energy rating with your budget. You’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that you’ll stay warm all winter and you can shop around for the best deal – and the best installer!

Winter is the worst time to find an engineer

If you leave your boiler replacement until the winter and you might be waiting a fair while. This is the busiest time of year for heating engineers, and unless you book early, you may be disappointed.

The problem is, everyone waits for winter to have work done on their boiler. So why not buck the trend and get your heating engineer to service your boiler or replace it when the sun’s shining?

You’ll stay warm

One of the biggest benefits of having a boiler replaced in the summer is the fact that you don’t need to switch it on anyway. Why freeze in winter waiting for heating and hot water when you can have the work done in summer and suffer minimal disruption?

Be prepared

Of course, no one knows when their boiler might break down, but at Williams Plumbing and Heating we’re here for our customers all year round. So whether your boiler needs replacing in summer or servicing in winter, we’re always on hand to help!
